The Rider

Before you hear anything about me, I think it's important for you know that I tend to use really bad jokes. So, if you happen to find any here on my website, I apologize in advance :)

I'm currently a Senior at Christopher Newport University, a small liberal arts University in Southeastern Virginia, studying accounting.  And I decided that before I enter the "real world" where I'm probably going to have to work for the next 30 years and raise a family, and generally have no life at all..... I wanted to have an adventure that would change me forever.  I decided to combine my two passions in life: cycling and learning new things.  Now, what a better way to do those two things together  than ride my bike through a bunch of countries, terrain and continent that I don't know anything about.

I've been riding bikes with friends and family for my entire life and began distance riding with two of my best friends and my cycling "teacher."  Together we formed a group called Team Pink Floyd and began to train for the Seagull Century, an annual 100 mile ride on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  Although none of us made it the whole 100 miles that first time around, we learned enough to make us want to train harder and keep going.  Over the years, the team drifted apart but I never forgot the freedom and passion I felt when I was riding and have kept at it to this very day.

Photos from Past Rides

Below you'll find a collection of photos from past rides that I've participated in.  Some of which have left me a little worse off and others which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

Not Just Cycling... But Storytelling

Lets admit it, its one thing to bike across a continent but another to be able to describe it and the fun times along the way.  My entire life I've always been good at embellishing.  One might even call it stretching a story to its natural limits.  But I call being a good storyteller.  Even though my adventures sound like those before me, none who have ventured these ways can pull your hearts and mind into simultaneous laughter, at my continuing ability to make a fool of myself, and amazement, at all the different situations I fall into face first.
